WE TAKE ONLY WHAT WE NEED FROM NATURE

Our lodge is built from completely natural, locally-sourced building materials. It is powered entirely by solar energy. Our water comes from sea water desalination, collecting rain water and tapping into natural water sources. Hygiene and care products are locally prepared, using only organic, natural ingredients. Our menu is entirely organic. Papuan women provide us with local fresh produce that is harvested by hand every day.

WE INNOVATE AND ACT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

To preserve the beautiful natural Environment of Dokri Island and its surrounding coral reef and marine life, we have implemented a local Marine Protected Area. Also, in constructing the lodge, we have taken special care not to disturb the coral reef. Thus, our jetty is the longest in Raja Ampat, reaching over the edge of the reef. The lodge is built entirely using local woods and leaves. Our boats are made in a traditional way from natural wood. They are powered by electric solar powered engines. We respect and care for life. Thus, all our meals are exclusively vegan and our local chefs prepare a wide variety of delicious vegan recipes for you to enjoy. To contribute to the local community, we have implemented an innovative approach to working and living with the Papuans.

WE INSPIRE THROUGH INNOVATION, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

The MahaRaja Eco Dive Lodge was developed as a platform to test and implement ecology and community projects. As part of our wider mission, we educate the local community, as well as our guests, about the benefits of an eco-friendly lifestyle and we teach them how to be more sustainable. Thereby, we bring together a community of eco-lovers, connecting people from different walks of life from all across the world, to experiment with, collaborate on and share new eco-ideas and initiatives and embrace a more sustainable way forward.
